We’re Three!

We’re now past the terrible two’s, walking around upright, forming full sentences and defining our personality.

Three years ago today, Bejata.com was born, or launched, or hatched, or open for business, or whatever it is that blogs do when they first start. The initial posting was a bit cryptic, more of a tease campaign than a real message. I was trying to meet a self-imposed deadline so I’d have an easy-to-remember anniversary date. I made it.

For some reason it seems much longer than three years. But then it’s also all a blur at this point. I have no idea how many actual articles I’ve written or how many people have stopped by. The tracker down there in the lower right corner is not the original one. We lost that, and all the initial data, during a re-design, so the stats listed are everything since. I don’t know that I actually care about such minutiae anyway.

I claim to write this blog for myself, using it as a brain dump for my thoughts. But I will admit to a certain pleasure when I know people have actually read it and perhaps found a point of connection. I suppose after three years this has now become too much a part of my life to ever abandon completely, although I go in and out of bouts of indifference and enthusiasm. In any event, thanks to everyone who has ever stopped by. I hope you’ll come again.

Now, if you’d care to show your gratitude, you can always stop by my wishlist. (C’mon, I had to take a shot, it’s my anniversary!)

It's your blogaversary! Let's see ... a birthday in July and a blogaversary in September ... hmmm! *LOL!*

Posted by: Donald at September 1, 2006 3:17 PM

My birthday is in January not July. But you're certainly welcome to buy me a gift at the mid-year point.

Congrats Bernie on your Blogaversary (I like that term) and many more! Thanks for being a constant presence on the Black gay blogosphere. I look forward to seeing what the future brings as your blog ages.....maybe some podcasts perhaps? Who knows.......but I'll stay tuned to see.
