Speed Bump

I knew my life was going too well lately.

I arrived at work this morning and my supervisor called me into her office. My position is being eliminated. We've simply run out of money to keep me. Others will have similar conversations with their supervisors throughout today. A large grant we were counting on didn't come through and we've been awaiting money from a large donor specifically for my program, which thus far has not come through and even if it does, will probably be earmarked for more urgent needs. So by the end of June I will be out of a job.

On to plan B....whatever the hell that is.

Oh no! Talk about a shitty way to start off a Monday morning. :( Well, you have a little bit of time to start on Plan B -- don't delay!

I often feel that we are lead down certain paths for a reason. While the immediate instinct may be anxiety and fear of what will happen, I, however, think this could be a sign to focus on those things you really want to do. Perhaps catering or the restaurant? You are a talented brother and I am sure that your next path will catipult you in the direction for which you've longed.

hello uncle bernie how are you?

i know it's been years since i visited or even posted a comment here.

i've been super busy and i finally let my site go i may bring it back but right now i dont' have time to maintain it and didn't have much to blog about.

I am sure you'll find something suitable, and more importantly, fulfilling. I will send any links that I think may help.

Bernie, I'm so sorry to hear about this. As Intellifreak says, you have so many talents and skills and so much experience, so I definitely hope you can find allows you to use more of those skills and that experience. I also hope whatever work you undertake brings you a lot of personal satisfaction.

*hugs you*

Sorry to hear the news.

Posted by: Shawn at May 15, 2006 10:47 PM

Damn! What horrible news...at least you have till June to use their computers to find yourself another job. Keep your head up, man. You have a LOT of talent and tremendous skills, so I'm sure you'll find something great soon.

Posted by: ReggieH at May 15, 2006 11:39 PM

Bernie, I'm with John and Intellifreak, you bring too many talents to the table to not find another position.

Be blessed.

Posted by: shim at May 16, 2006 12:15 AM

I'm very sorry to read this news. A quote from Essex Hemphill comes to mind: "Take care of your blessings."

Posted by: Mad Professah at May 16, 2006 2:56 PM

Release, Let go and Let Mother/Father God.
Release the Anxiety, Let go of the Panic and Let Mother/Father handle this situation.

This is an excellent time for you to pursue two of your skills. Acting and cooking.

Focus on harmony and prosperity living large in your life.

Posted by: Mister at May 16, 2006 3:37 PM

There is no doubt in my mind that you will do great things.

Be encouraged.

I'm sorry to hear about this speed bump but I have faith that this will yield a great new journey!

I believe you're gonna make it - this is a bump in the road. Keep us posted with the journey.

Posted by: EJ at May 18, 2006 5:28 AM

Wow, sorry to hear that Bernie. Everything happens for a reason and as others have said, you are talented, so I'm sure you'll find something new. This may be an opportunity as others have said, to pursue some of your other talents/interests. Good luck!
