Rubbed Him the Wrong Way

Singer Johnny Gill went to great lengths to dispel the Internet rumors swirling around about his close relationship with newly divorced actor/comedian Eddie Murphy.

In an interview with Patty Jackson on WDAS-FM in Philadelphia, Gill spoke briefly about an upcoming concert there with Bell Biv Devoe, then spent the bulk of the phone call interview addressing the rumors. Listen for yourself and decide what to believe.

Poor Johnny. He's been put with Arsenio (ick), Sugar Ray Leonard, now Eddie Murphy! LOL! He's "all man." Well, Johnny, guess what? So am I! He must be straight. No gay man woulda said something that stupid.

Sounds like he following the standard script of denial by wrapping himself in God and claiming the same tired heterosexist cliche' of being "all man" as if that is supposed to say something, and of course no one is going to say anything about his past sexual acts in they are affiliated. Alot of Supastars "mess around" with each other all the time, the status quo is to do it with someone who has as much to lose as you do, and to never spill or release damning information about the inner circle of DL supastars.

interesting interview.I was with Johnny at first because he made some valid points but then he lost me with that proclamation,"that I'm all man." Duh ,hello....just as he proclaims to be all man so are most men who mess around with other men. Also he doth protest too much.Patti Jackson had moved onto something else but Johnny still was going on and on trying to defend himself. Now I could care less about who Johnny sleeps with but the brother leaves himself open to speculation with interviews like that.

I'm not surprised by Gill's comments, which were homophobic and just stupid. You do have to wonder, though, why *his* name keeps coming up over and over in these rumors. He definitely looks good in that photograph, though!

I know why his name keeps coming up in relation to being gay...
