One love

Sometimes you just have to decide to do things yourself. Sitting around waiting for people to get back to you with answers or to make up their mind or to figure out if they have the funds or the time or the desire can tire you out waiting and cause you to miss the opportunity.

I made up my own mind that I want to enjoy more of the things that interest me, namely live theatre and good restaurants . I ask around to see if certain people I'd like to spend more time with are interested, and get indefinite answers. Or no answers. Or "no" answers. So screw it. I'll go by myself.

I have had the same frustration with some of my girlfriends over the years who have become so consumed with every day life (family, kids, job, family, kids, job) that they never take time out for themselves---to cultivate personal interests or hobbies. I have quite a few interests and hobbies and often find myself going alone to various events (relating to photography and music, mostly) by myself and that is when I usually meet people who share the same interest (finally) and it goes from there... So while your friends may not be in a "place" right now where they want/are able to join you, here's hopin' some come around and/or you meet others who share your interests along the way...

Oh! And as you do venture out, please share some insight into the theatre and restaurants you've enjoyed. I lived not far from you until last May and will hopefully recognize some of those spots...and remember them fondly.

You hit the nail on the head. That's why I don't even bother inviting people anymore. They slow me down. I go alone or with Wood or Loverboy ('cause he'll go along with almost anything if I ask him properly).

My interestes are varied and sometimes, untried by even me. Trying to "win" people over on an experimental dance performance, concert, art exhibit or independent film is generally fruitless.

Get's lonely sometimes, though.

no you can't depend on others you have to fend for yourself.

I can completely relate. Let's have dinner!

I've done much on my own over the years..... for this very same reason. I'll extend an invite, but haven't limited myself to going on my own. I guess that comes from much of the business and personal travel I do on my own. Enjoy yourself... and please share info on the restaurants.

I totally agree with you, sometimes you just gotta be out for yourself, like Beyonce... lol
